1958 - Baker's Market received first place in the Centennial parade. The float, "A Century of Memories," depicted a miner's home life in the early days. Thelma Baker, dressed in the fashion of long ago, was busy at the old-fashioned range, preparing supper for the family. The miner, Martin Baker, with his lunch bucket under his arm had returned from the day's work at the mine. The table was "set" and the delicious loaves of homemade bread awaited the family. Several children, in appropriate costumes, made up the family.
